The Carolina Panthers have agreed to terms on a four-year deal with linebacker Eric Norwood with a total base value of $2.24 million, according to a league source.
The fourth-round draft pick from South Carolina received a $458,400 signing bonus.
Drafted 124th overall, Norwood started 38 games for the Gamecocks with 26 starts at linebacker and a dozen at defensiv eend.
The 6-foot-1, 241-pounder is a three-time first-team All-Southeastern Conference selection.
Norwood set school records with 29 career sacks and 54 1/2 tackles for losses.
For his career, he recorded 255 tackles, 34 quarterback pressures, six fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles and eight pass deflections while blocking four kicks.
