Not only is Dexter McCluster one of the most exciting rookies in the NFL this season, he’s one of the personable characters from the latest draft class.
So a crowd followed him at the scouting combine back in February and he delighted reporters. One story he told was about the time as a freshman at Ole Miss that he made teammate Patrick Willis “look a little silly” with some slick moves on the field.
McCluster was a freshman at the time and Willis was an upperclassman.
“I have a little more experience under my belt," McCluster said, "So I hope he's ready."
As Daniel Brown of the San Jose Mercury News reported, Willis is prepared for the Week 3 meeting. The San Francisco 49ers (0-2) are as close to being desperate as you can get and McCluster and the Chiefs (2-0) enter with some confidence.
“If you've been a defensive player playing football all your life and you've never been juked, there's something wrong,” Willis said, according to the report. “Offensive guys are going to make plays. Defensive guys are going to make plays. But we'll see this Sunday.
"It's us against them. It's not about me and McCluster at Ole Miss. It's the 49ers and Chiefs."
We’ll see how elusive McCluster is come Sunday.
