The New England Patriots aren't exactly having a great last month to the off-season.

It got worse early Thursday morning when cornerback Alfonzo Dennard was arrested for DUI in Lincoln, Neb., per the Omaha World.

Dennard has already seen trouble before in Nebraska, stemming from being convicted of assaulting a police officer last year outside a bar. Dennard was placed on two years of probation and has to serve 30 days in jail, a sentence that was delayed until March 2014.

Dennard's lawyer was planning to file a motion to suspend his jail sentence if he complied with all aspects of his probation. This latest run-in with the law may have damaged his chances of that happening.

Dennard was taken in the seventh round by the Patriots last year as his draft stock tumbled following the incident. He had originally been projected as a likely third-round pick.
