It is not uncommon for professional football players to take pictures with fans.

And in the digital and technological age, it is not uncommon for that fan to send out the photo with the player via Twitter.

But when the "fan" happens to be a porn actress, well, let's just say it can create a little bit of a stir. That's what New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski found out as he posed shirtless in some shots with adult film actress Bibi Jones, who wore his Patriots home jersey.

"I mean, I didn’t intend anything to hurt the reputation of anyone on the New England Patriots or on behalf of (team owner) Robert Kraft,” said Gronkowski, according to The Associated Press and via NFL.com. ”It was a simple picture. That’s all. I’m here now. I’m here to talk about the Pittsburgh Steelers and the big game this weekend.”

And while some tried to make a big deal of it, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady said he welcomed the diversion of attention away from him.

"I'm just glad I'm no longer the one that people are making fun of on my team on a daily basis," Brady said Tuesday on WEEI-AM. "Gronk has definitely pulled into the lead there."
