The New England Patriots finally had one of their start tight ends on the field for some OTA work - albeit limited work.
Aaron Hernandez, coming off shoulder surgery, was expected to miss the entire off-season and has not been cleared for any contact, but was on the field Tuesday catching passes, per NFL.com.
The Patriots are still without Rob Gronkowski, who has had four forearm surgeries and is set for back surgery as well. Gronkowski might not be ready until the regular season starts, if then. So the news that Hernandez could be ahead of schedule is certainly welcome in New England.
