New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez underwent shoulder surgery earlier in the off-season and is likely to miss all of the team's organized team activities, according to NFL.com.
The loss of Hernandez, coupled with the uncertainly of Rob Gronkowski's recurring problems with his forearm, have turned the tight end position from a certain strength in New England to a potential question mark - at least for now.
Gronkowski's availability continues to be up in the up in the air for training camp and the season opener, but Hernandez is expected to be ready to go by the opening of training camp.
