Armstead, Vega come from north of the border to play in New England. Terry McCormick
The New England Patriots have signed a pair of players from the Canadian Football League, apparently with the thought of beefing up their pass rush and defense.
Per the Boston Globe, the Patriots have agreed to terms with defensive end Armond Armstead, formerly of the Toronto Argonauts, and with end/linebacker Jason Vega, who spent last season with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Vega has yet to be officially released from his contract to join the Pats.
