The New England Patriots announced the previously reported signing of cornerback Leigh Bodden as well as the addition of linebacker Marques Murrell.
Bodden intercepted five passes last season. For his career, he has intercepted 18 passes, knocked down 75 passes, recorded 341 tackles and forced seven fumbles with six fumble recoveries.
Murrell is a 6-foot-2, 250-pounder who spent the last three seasons with the New York Jets.
He has registered 21 tackles on defense and 27 tackles on special teams.
Last season, Murrell played in 10 regular-season games and one postseason game for the Jets, finishing with three tackles on defense and 13 special teams tackles.
Murrell was a two-time first-team All-American at Appalachian State, where he recorded 36 sacks and set a school record with 18 forced fumbles.
