The New England Patriots have cut veteran tight end Nate Byham.

It was a brief stint with the Patriots, lasting just four days.

Byham signed with them earlier this week.

He has previous stints with the San Francisco 49ers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Byham is a former 49ers sixth-round pick from Pitt.

In 29 games and 11 starts, the blocking tight end has 11 catches for 83 yards and one touchdown.
