The New England Patriots offically signed veteran free agent tight end Alge Crumpler, according to Scout.com.
Patriots owner Robert Kraft had predicted that a deal was getting close.
Crumpler visited the Patriots earier this month.
Crumpler, 32, is regarded as a strong blocker and locker room presence.
And he should provide reliable ability for a Patriots team that was sorely in need of some reinforcements at tight end.
Crumpler played for the Tennessee Titans for the past few seasons preceded by a stint with the Atlanta Falcons.
