The Patriots announced that they've released veteran cornerback Marquice Cole.
Cole spent three years (2009-2011) with the New York Jets before joining the Patriots a year ago. He spent time in 14 games a season ago.
He entered the NFL in 2007 as an undrafted free agent with the Oakland Raiders. Before joining the Jets, he spent time on the practice squads in Tennessee and New Orleans.
For his career, Cole has appeared in 51 games and has totaled 43 special teams tackles, 26 defensive tackles, and three interceptions (one returned for a touchdown).
