The New England Patriots announced the release of veteran wide receiver Donald Jones on Friday.
Jones, who spent three seasons with the Buffalo Bills, signed with the Patriots as an unrestricted free agent in March. In 35 NFL games, he has 82 career receptions and six touchdowns.
The Patriots also added a pair of rookie receivers, signing Perez Ashford and Quentin Sims.
Ashford, who played at Northern Illinois, was released by the Cleveland Browns in Mayafer he had signed with them as an undrafted rookie free agent a month earlier.
Sims started his college career at Georgia Tech, but transferred to Tennessee-Martin.
