Besides making it official by announcing the previously reported trade for offensive lineman Quinn Ojinnaka from the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for an undisclosed 2011 draft pick, the New England Patriots executed several other transactions.

They re-signed defensive back Ross Ventrone, cut undrafted rookie cornerback Terrence Johnson and injury-waived seventh-round defensive lineman Kade Weston.

If Weston clears waivers, he'll revert to the Patriots' injured reserve list.

Ojinnaka (6-foot-5, 295 pounds) is a former 2006 fifth-round draft pick out of Syracuse. He has played in 39 NFL games with 12 starts. Last season, he played in nine games with five starts at right guard.

Ventrone was signed by the Patriots earlier this year as an undrafted rookie free agent. The three-year starter at Villanova. was cut Aug. 15.

Johnson was signed this spring after going undrafted out of California (Pa.). He recorded 16 career interceptions and 178 tackles.

Weston recorded 78 career tackles and four sacks. He was drafted 248th overall.
