Perrish Cox lands with the Niners

For the second time in as many days, the San Francisco 49ers have signed a player that brings some character concerns to the table.

On the heels of acquiring free agent wideout Randy Moss, the 49ers announced on Tuesday that the team has agreed to terms on a two-year contract with cornerback Perrish Cox.

Cox—who was selected by the Broncos in the fifth-round of the 2010 draft—started nine games for Denver as a rookie in 2010, recording 54 tackles and one interception.

Unfortunately, the 25-year-old out of Oklahoma State is known more for his trouble off the field than he is for his production on it. Cox was recently acquitted of rape charges just two weeks ago, but now has the opportunity to turn his life around with a second chance in San Francisco.

Here’s hoping he can do just that.
