With repoeated “Omaha” calls at the line of scrimmage, Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning helped raise $24,800 for his charity during the AFC championship game.
Advancing to the Super Bowl for the third time, Manning has eight business contributing money to his Peyback Foundation after committing to donate $800 combine for each time he said “Omaha” against the New England Patriots. Manning said it 31 times on Sunday, according to ESPN.
“This has been terrific for us,” said David G. Brown, president and CEO of the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce. “Before Friday, we had calculated that news coverage of Omaha had generated the equivalent of about $10 million in advertising.”
Contributing businesses from Omaha included: Omaha Steaks, Mutual of Omaha, FNB Omaha, CenturyLink, ConAgra Foods, Union Pacific, DJ's Dugout and Cox Communications.
