The Miami Dolphins have a decision to make on defensive end Phillip Merling, who's out for the season with a torn Achilles' tendon: place him on injured reserve or the non-football injury list.
If the Dolphins choose the latter, they could opt to reduce his $600,000 salary, per the Miami Herald.
Per the report, the Dolphins are likely to work something out with Jimmy Sexton, Merling's agent, that might cut his pay. Sexton also represents Bill Parcells, the Dolphins' top executive.
The report also states that players are wondering where Merling has been this offseason because he hasn't been at team headquarters much.
