New England Patriots reserve linebacker and special-teams ace Pierre Woods signed a one-year contract above the restricted free agent tender of $1.176 million that he had been assigned, a league source confirmed.
Woods hadn't signed his tender while a contract was negotiated with the team.
Exact terms weren't disclosed.
Woods, 28, is a former undrafted free agent from Michigan.
Last season, the 6-foot-5, 250-pounder recorded 36 tackles in kick coverage.
That tied him for the most on the team.
Woods has 101 career tackles, one sack and one forced fumble.
