Pierre-Paul says he won't be 100 percent until next year
New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul is convinced he won't be 100 percent until next season.
Pierre-Paul had back surgery four months ago and only has one sack in his past 14 games.
"I know for a fact that it's going to take a whole offseason to get my strength back," Pierre-Paul told New York reporters. "There's no pain, it's just strength. My back is not totally strong. But that was a big surgery, and I'm just blessed that it went well and that I have a chance to play football again at all. It really is going to take that whole offseason to get back to the old JPP, but he's not gone."
The Giants have only six sacks this season, and Pierre-Paul isn't the subject of double-team blocking schemes.
"There's no reason to double me right now," he said. "But don't be too stupid and just leave me one-on-one all game. I can still get there."
