Wide receiver sidelined since hip surgery Aaron Wilson
Sidelined following his offseason hip surgery, new Miami Dolphins wide receiver Brandon Marshall is getting plenty of mental reps while riding a stationary bike at practice.
And the Dolphins are making sure that Marshall gets up to speed on the playbook, including being quizzed by wide receivers coach Karl Dorrell. That includes written exams during meetings.
"That's been me saying to Karl, 'Let's make sure that Brandon is being held accountable for this information just like everybody else is,''' Dolphins coach Tony Sparano said Sunday as the team concluded its minicamp. "Brandon knows that. So his way of being held accountable right now has to be from a test standpoint, and out there verbally right now."
Sparano emphasized that the Dolphins' formations are similar to what Marshall is accustomed to when he was with the Denver Broncos.
"I'm talking like 90 percent of the same,'' Sparano said. "So this transition is easier for him here than maybe it would have been some other places.''
