Mikel Leshoure attempted to eat marijuana during a traffic stop last month to avoid prosecution.
Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports that Leshoure was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped by police on March 12. Per the report, a police chief said “Leshoure tried to eat the weed to avoid charge.”
Leshoure pleaded to a lesser charge after a Feb. 18 traffic stop in which he was cited for possession of marijuana. This follows up on the previous report that the Detroit Lions running back has been busted for allegedly possessing marijuana twice this offseason. Leshoure is being arraigned on the latest charge today.
The running back is working to return from a torn Achilles tendon that ruined his rookie season. Now, he’ll now doubt be on the radar of the NFL. Stay tuned. Perhaps this will make running back a greater need for the Lions come the draft.
