The police captain who has been trying to reel in Kenny Britt to talk about what he knows in the early Sunday stabbing/shooting incident in Jersey City, N.J., sounds as if he is getting tired of the run-around.
“Titans management and Mr. Britt’s management have indicated that he is willing to cooperate with the police, but I don’t know what police they’re talking about. He needs to meet with the Jersey City Police Department,” said Capt. Edgar Martinez to TitanInsider. “We’re requesting them to contact us 201-547-5460 and to ask to speak Nicholas Flora. Right now, they’re being spin doctors in this.”
Indications are that Britt will sit down with police fairly soon, and that he could have his attorney present as he answers questions regarding his driving a stabbing victim to a local hospital. Britt the returned to the house to pick up his girlfriend, and a short time later, a gunshot was fired through a window.
The NFL is also monitoring the situation, meaning that if Britt is found to have any serious involvement in the matter he could face further discipline from the league. He was suspended for one game by Commissioner Roger Goodell for a DUI last July, his eighth brush with the law since the Titans drafted him in 2009.
