The Nashville police wanted to clear a few things up regarding 'myths' surrounding the murder case of the late Steve McNair.

So, they conducted a press conference about the year-old case.

Police maintain that McNair was shot and killed by his girlfriend, Sahel Kazemi, who committed suicide with the same gun.

Former police officer Vincent Hill published a book with his theories about the case and unsuccessfully attempted to have it reopened by a grand jury.

Here's what the Tennessean reported from the press conference:

Although it's been rumored that McNair's gun was found inside the condo after the bodies were found, police say it was actually in McNair's car.

The man (Adrian Gilliam) who sold the murder weapon to Kazemi allegedly dated a woman on a football team that rented a nightclub owned by the McNair associated who discoveted the bodies. However, police said the team never rented the nightclub.

Despite rumors to the contrary, Gilliam didn't promote concerts at McNair's friend's nightclub.

And McNair's keys were on his person, not missing.

An investigator on the McNair case, detective Charles Robinson, was dismissive of Hill's claims:

"Vincent Hill just wants to profit from his book," Robinson said.
