Bernard Pollard has a bit of a reputation as a hard hitter and a player who doesn't mind speaking his mind.

After his first preseason game as a Tennessee Titan, Pollard showed a little in both regards.

He got a 15-yard penalty for unnecessary roughness on a hit that drove receiver Aldrick Robinson of the Washington Redskins out of bounds, and later he admitted he probably does have a bit of a rap that precedes him in the eyes of officials.

But he said the Titans defense has to set a tone of aggressiveness, regardless.

“I don't know. I guess I'm pegged or whatever, I can't think about that. We've got to set the tone. In our secondary, if you catch the ball, and we're around you, we're gonna hit you,” Pollard told TitanInsider after Tennessee's 22-21 preseason loss to the Skins.

Mike Munchak just has to hope that the next time such an opportunity arises that it won't result in 15 yards.

Regardless, Pollard might still hear from the league for the hit on Robinson in terms of a fine.
