Dolphins center says his guy is best of rookie QBs. Terry McCormick
Miami Dolphins center Mike Pouncey is biased, but he likes the rookie quarterback he has better than the two that were taken ahead of him.
Pouncey tells FoxSportsFlorida that Ryan Tannehill is like Tom Brady and that he would take the eighth overall pick over Indianapolis' Andrew Luck and Washington's Robert Griffin III. If Tannehill can play this week on his injured knee and quad, then Pouncey might get to find out how his guy and Luck stack up as the Dolphins face the Colts.
"I think he's the best rookie quarterback in the NFL right now," Pouncey said of Tannehill. "Without his success that he's having right now, we wouldn't be the 3-3 Dolphins that we are.
"I think he's better than RG3. Their games are different. RGIII can throw, but he can also run. Tannehill's a smart quarterback. I think he's going to be one of those elite guys like Tom Brady when it comes said and done. Just his composure. His leadership in the huddle right now is just phenomenal. … I do see Tom, and the way he coordinates and runs his offense is the same as Tannehill does."
