Experience said to be deciding factor in top backup to Cassel. Terry McCormick
The Kansas City Chiefs will go with Brady Quinn as their No. 2 quarterback behind starter Matt Cassel, according to the Kansas City Star.
Quinn had been battling Ricky Stanzi for the top backup spot, and Coach Romeo Crennel indicated that Quinn's experience gave him the edge in the race.
That’s the main thing I feel like will benefit us the most,’’ Crennel said. “He has experience in games. Both guys have good ability, and they both competed and worked very hard.’’
Stanzi will remain as the third QB as the Chiefs are high on his long-range potential.
“He’s a good, young player with a lot of talent, and he has a lot of upside to him,’’ Crennel said.
