Raiders cut Andre Carter, keep four quarterbacks

The Oakland Raiders cut veteran defensive end Andre Carter as well as experienced cornerback Joselio Hanson and linebacker Omar Gaither.

The Raiders are at four quarterbacks, including Terrelle Pryor, Matt Flynn, rookie Tyler Wilson and Matt McGoin.

The Raiders waived-injured offensive tackle Willie Smith, placed offensive lineman Tony Bergstrom on injured reserve and wide receiver Andre Holmes is on the reserve-suspended list.

The Raiders also cut offenive tackle Tony Hills, safety Reggie Smith, defensive linemen Ryan Baker and David Bass, linebacker Billy Boyko, cornerback Chance Casey, offensive guard Jason Foster, tight end Richard Gordon, wide receiver Greg Jenkins, safety Shelton Johnson, tight end Brian Leonhardt, offensive guard Lamar Mady, kicker Justin Medlock, defensive tackle Kurt Taufa’asau, linebacker Chase Thomas, wide receiver Conner Vernon and running back Deonte Williams.
