Are the Oakland Raiders willing to trade shutdown cornerback Nmandi Asomugha to the Philadelphia Eagles to acquire quarterback Donovan McNabb?
Maybe, maybe not.
The Raiders told the Oakland Tribune that the trade reports are untrue.
And ESPN reporters have stated that the Raiders are receptive to the idea while John Clayton refuted that notion during a SportsCenter appearance.
The Tribune reports that two Raider employees said they're unaware of any contact between the Raiders and the Eagles.
Asomugha doesn't have a no-trade clause.
And his contract makes him difficult to include in trade discussions.
That said, McNab would definitely solidify a shaky quarterback situation in Oakland.
So, they shouldn't be ruled out as a potential McNabb suitor.
