Report says new coach signed a four-year deal. Terry McCormick
The Oakland Raiders finally announced on Friday what everyone knew and reported by Wednesday - that Dennis Allen is the team's new head coach.
The Raiders issued a press release acknowledging the hire, according to InsideBayArea.com. No terms were revealed but the deal was reported to be four years.
Given the Raiders' recent history with coaches and short tenures, if Allen makes it to the end of the deal, then he will have done something no Raiders coach has done since Jon Gruden in 2001 - spend four years as head coach of the team.
Oh for the days of the stability of John Madden and Tom Flores in Oakland.

Reggie won't be so quick to fire a coach he's smart enough to know it takes a coach 3 to 4 years to get a team the way they want it. I would be suprised if this guy doesn't last at least 4 years.
Wow. The best they could do is hire a guy who was a D-Coordinator for ONE year and had the 6th worst defense in the league? I thought things were going to get better in Oakland. Guess not.
Do you think this is someone that Al would have hired or should they have keep hue and got a better D- Coordinator would like to know what you think also what mike think because he new Al
