Raiders reportedly willing to offer more than other teams for veteran quarterback Aaron Wilson
Is veteran quarterback Donovan McNabb bound for the Oakland Raiders?
Answer: Perhaps very soon.
According to ESPN, the Raiders are the "leading candidate" to acquire the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback via a trade.
Per the report, the Raiders are inclined to give up their second round pick, the No. 39 overall selection, in exchange for McNabb.
Plus, McNabb's $11.2 million in 2010 compensaiton, including a $6.2 million roster bonus due May 5, isn't a concern for the Raiders unlike other teams.
The report notes some connections that might make the trade more palatable for McNabb to go to a losing franchise.
Al Davis and McNabb are both Syracuse alums.
Raiders offensive coordinator Hue Jackson is a distant McNabb cousin.
Although the trade isn't reportedly imminent, it is expected to happen soon.
And McNabb's arrival would be a major upgrade for a Raiders offense currently slate to have JaMarcus Russell and Bruce Gradkowski compete for the starting job.
