Oakland pondering him as a possible nickelback. Terry McCormick
Taiwan Jones' career as a running back has yet to really take off for the Oakland Raiders.
Now, general manager Reggie McKenzie is contemplating putting into motion something Jones offered up late last year - a move across the ball to cornerback.
“I’m pushing for cornerback,” McKenzie said Friday from the NFL combine via ESPN.com. “I think it fits his skill set. I think we’re going to see how he does there.”
Such a switch won't be easy at the highest level, but the Raiders, who have a notable history of doing things their own way, believe Jones can make the switch because of the ability he has shown as a tackler on special teams.
