The Oakland Raiders have signed former Houston Texans outside linebacker Sam Montgomery to the practice squad, according to his agent.
They also signed safety Kyle McCarthy to the practice squad.
Montgomery is a former Texans third-round draft pick from LSU.
He was released for violating team rules for allegedly smoking marijuana before a game against the Kansas City Chiefs this season, but Montgomery has denied doing so
At LSU, Montgomery had 19 career sacks.
He has worked out for the Cincinnati Bengals previously this season.
