Oakland Raiders tight end Nick Kasa tore his anterior cruciate ligament.

Kasa is a special-teams standout who caught one pass for 14 yards and a touchdown last season.

With David Ausberry also out since undergoing knee surgery, the Raiders are running short of tight ends.

The Raiders will likely need to sign someone to play in addition to tight end Mychal Rivera.

“That’s something we have to look at, to see if we can add someone to the roster,” Raiders coach Dennis Allen said.
