Raiders' top pick Hayden has abdominal surgery

Cornerback D.J. Hayden, the Oakland Raiders first-round pick, will likely be sidelined for the off-season after undergoing abdominal surgery, says CBS Sports.

Hayden, who suffered a serious heart issue and nearly died last November, is still hospitalized, though the Raiders have characterized the latest surgery as "a minor procedure." Last November, while still in college at the University of Houston, he tore the inferior vena cava around his heart in practice, an injury that can be fatal due to blood loss.
