Denver defensive coordinator could be next coach in Oakland, per report. Terry McCormick
The Oakland Raiders have targeted Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Dennis Allen to be their next head coach, according to ESPN.com. Allen and the Raiders are apparently in negotiations.
The other finalist in Oakland was, according to a source, Philadelphia offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg, who remains a possibility with the Indianapolis Colts.
What is interesting in the Raiders' move, if they indeed hire Allen, is that early reports and speculation had new general manager Reggie McKenzie staying within the Green Bay Packers family three with either Winston Moss or Dom Capers. However, he has turned his attention to a top aide from a division rival, which should make things in the AFC West even more interesting this season.

Interesting how many people thought that McKenzie would have tunnel vision inregards to Packers coaches while evaluating for a new head coach. Isn't really turning out that way. Just because he brings a talent evaluation system with him doesn't mean he will flood the team with ex Packers.
at least we don't have to watch Hue Jackson nauseatingly drop to one knee and act like he's thankful to Al Davis, just to pander to the cameras again.

Not much of a departure from their previous hiring methods for a head coach. Look for assistants, they usually take less to get their name out as a HC for a new hire.
