Sixth pick of '08 draft has been bust Brad Biggs
The St. Louis Rams are taking a low-risk look at a high-priced bust.
The team announced that it has signed defensive end Vernon Gholston, the sixth overall pick of the 2008 draft by the New York Jets.
Gholston never got his career going with the Jets and was signed by the Chicago Bears last summer. Gholston, an Ohio State product, was ineffective in preseason for them and was cut.
The Rams have been looking for an edge rusher and were reported to also be investigating veteran performer Andre Carter. At least Carter has produced in his career.
