Most believe St. Louis will keep 4-3 scheme Brad Biggs
The St. Louis Rams will finally make it official, likely today, and name Rob Ryan their defensive coordinator.
Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports Ryan is due to arrive in town today when a contract could be finalized. Ryan interviewed for the job last week and has been rumored to be going to St. Louis since shortly after he was fired by the Dallas Cowboys in the major restructuring Jerry Jones is overseeing.
It’s a match that makes sense. Rams coach Jeff Fisher has known Ryan since Fisher was a safety for the Chicago Bears playing for defensive coordinator Buddy Ryan.
Some are wondering what kind of difference Ryan can make with a defense that was pretty solid for much of the 2012 season. It’s a little hard to make a judgment on his work this season because the Cowboys suffered so many injuries on the defensive side of the ball.
Per Thomas, the Rams will also hire Frank Bush as linebackers coach. He was an assistant in Tennessee previously and a defensive coordinator in Houston.
