Ravens’ Elam agrees to rookie contract

The Baltimore Ravens announced that they have come to terms with first-round pick Matt Elam on his rookie contract.

Elam, a hard-hitting safety from the University of Florida, is ticketed to start in the Ravens' secondary as both Ed Reed and Bernard Pollard left Baltimore as free agents in the off-season.

The interesting part of Elam's deal is that the rookie did not hire an agent to negotiate his contract, instead working without an agent and with the advice of his brother Abram Elam, who played last season for the Kansas City Chiefs.
