Franchise tag looms if no deal can be reached by Monday. Terry McCormick
The Baltimore Ravens are still in talks with Joe Linta, the agent for quarterback Joe Flacco, about a long-term contract extension, according to Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun.
The clock is ticking on getting a new deal done, however, with Monday being the deadline for the franchise tag to be applied. If no deal can be reached by then, the Ravens will assuredly apply the tag. The only question then will be which one - the $14.9 million non-exclusive tag or the much more expensive but risk-proof exclusive tag of about $20 million.
