Defensive lineman Ryan McBean underwent successful surgery on his broken ankle, according to the Baltimore Sun.

McBean had some 'metal hardware' inserted into the foot to help accelerate the healing process, according to the report.

McBean will miss the first three games of the 2012 season anyway, serving a suspension for violating the league's performance-enhancing drug policy while he was with the Denver Broncos last year.
