QB, center hope to stay in Baltimore. Terry McCormick
Joe Linta, who represents both center Matt Birk and quarterback Joe Flacco, will meet with the Baltimore Ravens in the next week in hopes of hammering out contract extensions for both players, according to the Carroll County Times.
Birk, 35, will be an unrestricted free agent in a week barring an agreement between now and then. The six-time Pro Bowl center does not want to retire and would like to remain with the Ravens if possible.
Flacco has one year remaining on his rookie deal, but the Ravens would like to extend his contract before he heads into the final year of the contract if possible.
