Washington Redskins defensive end Jason Hatcher is going to have arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.

He's expected to miss four to six weeks.

The procedure is to clean up some cartilage issues he's experienced..

Hatcher signed a four-year, $27.5 million contract in March, leaving the Dallas Cowboys.

He's the Redskins' top defensive acquisition.
