The Washington Redskins have exercised a fifth-year option for outside linebacker Ryan Kerrigan.

It's worth $7.038 million in 2015 and is guaranteed for injury only.

The Redskins drafted Kerrigan out of Purdue with the 16th overall pick in 2011.

Last season, Kerrigan had 8.5 sacks, 66 tackles and four forced fumbles. He's recorded 24.5 sacks for his career in three NFL seasons, starting every game since joining the Redskins.

Kerrigan signed a $15.768 million contract in 2011 that included $8.72 million in guaranteed money.
