Redskins place Stephen Bowen on injured reserve
Washington Redskins defensive end Stephen Bowen was placed on injured reserve due to a torn posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and cartilage damage and will need microfracture surgery to repair the issues.
It could take six months to recover.
Chris Baker will start in his place.
The Redskins promoted wide receiver Josh Bellamy from the practice squad to the active roster and cut reserve cornerback Jerome Murphy. Cornerback Peyton Thompson was signed to the practice squad.
