Reggie Cobb named NFC scout of year by Fritz Pollard Alliance

Reggie Cobb of the San Francisco 49ers has been named the NFC Scout of the Year by the Fritz Pollard Alliance.

Cobb will be honored, along with other winners, at the ninth annual awards ceremony for the Alliance on Feb. 24 in Indianapolis during the scouting combine.

“I have had the great privilege of working with Reggie while with the 49ers and the Redskins,” 49ers general manager Trent Baalke said in a statement released by the team. “Reggie’s hard work, loyalty and professionalism are qualities I have always appreciated. It is very fitting for him to be recognized in this fashion.”

Cobb has worked for the 49ers scouting the West since 2009. Prior to that, he worked six seasons for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and be broke into scouting in 2001 with the Washington Redskins.

Cobb played seven seasons as a running back in the NFL after a decorated career at the University of Tennessee.
