Andy Reid will take over the Kansas City Chiefs, agreeing to a contract on Friday, according to the Kansas City Star.

The two sides got together over the past two days and multiple reports indicated that they were close to a deal, something that became inevitable this morning after general manager Scott Pioli was let go.

Reid, who spent 14 years in Philadelphia before bottoming out this season, inherits a Chiefs team that finished a league-worst 2-14 and has the first overall pick in the draft. Surprisingly, for a team so bad, the Chiefs have some building blocks like Jamaal Charles and Derrick Johnson to work with, as they had five players selected to the Pro Bowl.

The key will be stabilizing the quarterback position, the same issue Reid had in Philadelphia this year with the inconsistent and injury-prone Michael Vick. In KC, Matt Cassel and Brady Quinn both struggled mightily this season.
