San Francisco 49ers defensive end Aldon Smith has capped a fine rookie season with an alleged mistake.
Smith was arrested by Miami Beach police Friday night and booked into jail on DUI charges, according to KTVU-TV.
Smith was reportedly booked into jail at 9:23 a.m. (EST) this morning with a bond of $1,000. He had a fantastic season for the NFC West champion 49ers with 14 sacks, a franchise record for rookies. He was one short of setting the NFL record for rookies.
The 49ers made Smith the seventh overall pick from Missouri.
