Report: Asking price for Asante Samuel is two 2nd-round picks
The wild and quick trip through free agency taken by the Philadelphia Eagles has left the organization with lots of choices.
At cornerback, Philadelphia can go into the season with three Pro Bowl-caliber corners giving them the kind of depth other clubs would dream of. Or, the Eagles can look to make a move.
According to Mike Silver of Yahoo! Sports, the asking price for cornerback Asante Samuel is two second-round draft picks. Could a team negotiate the Eagles down from that mark? Maybe. But general manager Howie Roseman told Silver he’s comfortable going into the season with Samuel as a third behind Nnamdi Asomugha and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. Why wouldn’t he be?
But adding some value moving forward makes sense. Surely, teams with injuries will consider picking up the phone.
