Report: Brandon Marshall calls out Jay Cutler

When its clicking and in sync, the Chicago Bears' offense can be among the best and most dangerous in the NFL.

Lately, that hasn't been the case. The Bears have not lived up to their potential this season and Sunday's loss to Miami was yet another example of that. The Bears fell to 3-4 this season after losing 27-14 to the Dolphins.

Following the game, and according to a report from ESPN Chicago, Marshall called out quarterback Jay Cutler in front of his teammates. Cutler finished with just 190 passing yards and turned the ball over twice — once on an interception and once on a lost fumble.

Marshall didn't deny that he yelled at Cutler or any of his other teammates during his postgame interview.

"We lost, there should be a lot of frustration," Marshall said, via ESPN. "You should hear frustration. We're 3-4. Yeah, this means everything to a lot of guys in this locker room. This means a lot."

Cutler and Marshall are close friends so it's unlikely that this incident causes a rift between them on or off the field. But it's clear that Cutler needs to step his level of play up because it has not been consistent through seven games. Despite having Marshall, Alshon Jeffery and Martellus Bennett in the passing game, and Matt Forte at running back, Cutler has thrown seven interceptions in Chicago's four losses. He's also fumbled the ball eight times this year.

Cutler will need to play more consistent football if the Bears are to live up to their potential. Perhaps Marshall sent a message to his buddy Sunday afternoon.
