New England Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes was placed on injured reserve for reasons beyond his lingering knee injury, according to ESPN.
Per the report, Spikes was shut down partially because of being late for practice again.
Spikes had played through the knee injury all season, raising questions about why he was suddenly not allowed to play anymore.
On Twitter, Spikes posted a photo asking for help when his car got snuck in the snow.
Per the report, the injured reserve designation was used as a compromise with Spikes rather than cutting him.
If that's the case, Spikes obviously won't be coming back as a free agent.
