Zorn announced starter on his radio show Brad Biggs
Jason Campbell didn’t exactly come across as relieved or overjoyed to discover that he’s maintained his job as the starting quarterback for the Washington Redskins, for another week at least.
Jim Zorn announced on his radio show that Campbell would be the starter Monday night at FedEx Field against the Philadelphia Eagles when the head coach Zorn will be relaying in from the sideline the play calls that are coming from the extra set of eyes, consultant Sherm Lewis, in the coaches’ box.
It was news to Campbell when he was reached by Jason Reid of the Washington Post.
“I haven't been told that yet,” Campbell told Reid. “I haven't talked to him about that, I don't know what to say about that, but I'm just going to get myself ready whether it's me or (Todd Collins).”
Campbell got the yank as Zorn went to the bullpen for the veteran Collins in the second half of a miserable loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. Had Collins done anything, surely he would have wrestled the job away from Campbell, who can’t manage to complete much of anything downfield. He was 9-of-16 passing in the first half vs. the Chiefs for 89 yards. That’s less than 10 yards per completion. Top quarterbacks average more than eight yards per attempt.
“Right now, all I'm trying to do is just do whatever I can to help my team win,” Campbell said. “It's really not about one person, it's about all of us. We all have to do our part to be successful, and I'm always going to try to do that.”

I guess what I find most disappointing about this article is that some of the other writers on this site - especially Andrew Brandt - do such a great job of writing about these issues and educating us on the proper context for figures like this cash number.

This article is a pretty desperate attempt to pile on Zorn
He's the head coach, he has no obligation to baby his players and make sure they have Bern consulted before he talks to the press. If this were Parcells or Belichech would press be clamorong wondering if a player was advised?
WTF? Campbell is a pro QB, get ready to play - and if the coach tells you to play, be ready.
In the meantime, shut up and get prepared.
